Yeah, it seems to have been broken forever. Casting Crackle to your shield works, but that's kind of a pain. You can uninstall it then install an older version and it works. I gave up on the Shield app and it is one of the few things that I run from my Roku. Crackle works now with the most recent update. And, it only took them nearly Ten Months to actually get 'round to fixing it I agree, it's asinine.
But it works now. The Shield has had some growing pains but it does keep getting better. Yet the Crackle app has nothing to do, specifically, with the Shield. Everyone with a Android TV device had the same experience.
