Harmony 659 how many devices

No work here may be reproduced or reprinted without the express written permission of the author. Easy to use, easy to set-up. Full control of any component. Ideal for satellite and digital cable. No macro programming. It's important that you review this as changes may have to be made to your device before it can be controlled. Most devices respond to a single type of IR signal; however some devices have multiple versions of those IR signals and it's important that Harmony understands which one to send.

By default, Harmony will add the device into your account using the most common version; however if that does not work you can change the version. View this support article for more information: Understanding devices with multiple IR versions. If the manufacturer and model number you entered was not found in the Harmony database, however similar matches were, those similar matches will be presented.

If you are sure the information entered is correct, then you may still add this device by teaching Harmony IR commands from the original remote. View this support article for more information: Adding a device that's not found in the Harmony database. If you are having trouble finding your model number, we recommend reviewing this support article: Finding your device's model number.

If the manufacturer and model number you entered was found, then Harmony will add it to your account without any further notification. Harmony's matching algorithm will also correct common mistakes such as a 'L' being confused as a '1', or a zero being confused as the letter 'O'.

How it works With Harmony remotes you have a limited number of devices but a basically unlimited number of so-called activities. The activity system is the main reason Harmony remotes are so intuitive to use. Harmony's learning function is designed to allow you to customize a device by adding new commands from the original device's remote control.

The workaround depends on the fact that those commands don't necessarily have to come from the just one remote. I could create a new "Watch Roku" activity using commands learned from the Roku remote and tacked on to one of the five devices.

The commands to control my Roku would "piggy-back" atop that existing device, such as my TV, as a sort of "phantom device. The Harmony software sees it as one device, but it actually controls two. This is the best model that they have ever made. Soft buttons, direct device control, 15 or more?

I am hoarding them as I find them to last the years, as I have also supplied others in my family. I guess being the family remote guru isn't that bad after all. Get one if you can find a new one Verified purchase: Yes Condition: Pre-owned. It doesn't have my DVR in it's files and it's approximation is poor. I feel like there may be more it might do for me, but it's of minimal use atm. I really hoped it would just work nice and easy. Identical to the one I already own.
